Connect an AI client over MCP

Add the Index My Site remote MCP server to Claude, Cursor, Codex, and other MCP clients so your AI agent can submit URLs for Google indexing.

Index My Site has a remote MCP server. Once connected, your AI client can submit URLs, list your jobs, check a job, and check your credit balance, so the agent that publishes or reviews your pages can also get them indexed and report back on the result.

Point your MCP client at this endpoint:

https://indexmysite.app/mcp

The first time your client connects, it opens a browser window so you can sign in and approve access. The connection stays active after that until you disconnect it or revoke it from your account settings.

Client setup

Run this command to add Index My Site to Claude Code.

claude mcp add --transport http indexmysite https://indexmysite.app/mcp

Tools

Tool What it does
Submit URLs Creates a job from a list of URLs, up to 2000 per job. Each URL is checked first; only sent URLs use credits. Your client can ask for Fast (faster Google indexing) or Bing, which add 1 credit per URL each and are not returned; it should only do so when you ask. Skipped URLs (redirects, robots.txt blocks, noindex, error pages, canonicals pointing elsewhere, URLs already in progress in your account) are not charged, and pages with little main content wait for your approval. The reply says which URLs were sent, are being checked, need review or are waiting for credits, and when to expect the first Google search (24 hours), additional searches (around days 3 and 7 until the exact URL is found or confirmed indexed), full report (around day 5) and final checks (around day 14), timed from when each URL is sent. Searches without a match do not trigger refunds.
Approve URLs Approves URLs waiting as needs review, by id or all of them, after your client has shown you each warning and the credit cost. Approved URLs cost the job’s credits per URL when they are sent.
List jobs Returns your recent jobs with their names, URL counts, and progress.
Check job Returns every URL in a job with its current status, such as checking, needs review, skipped (with the reason), queued, in progress, indexed, or refunded, plus the same guidance on what happens next.
Check credits Returns your current credit balance.

Example prompts

  • “Submit these three URLs for indexing.”
  • “Which URLs from yesterday’s job are indexed yet?”
  • “How many credits do I have left?”

Your client asks for confirmation before it spends credits, depending on how it handles tool calls. Check its settings if you want every submission approved by hand.

Revoking access

Open your account settings in the app, then Connections, and remove the client. It will need to sign in again before it can use the MCP server.
